This meme features the very real decibel scale with a meme-y twist. The twist is putting something known to be very loud but exaggerating just how loud it actually is. The meme on the left exploits how loud Italian conversations can sometimes be. The meme on the right portrays just how bad Gordon Ramsey wanted to locate the lamb sauce. I give this meme a 6.7 out of 10.

If you are familiar with the "I Have the Power of God and Anime on My Side" meme (I will include it below), you will understand why I am making this pose displayed above. At the end of the JV soccer game last night, I was cleaning up the shed when I found a mallet. While swinging the mallet around for fun, I subsequently remembered the "I Have the Power of God and Anime on My Side" and thought I test my peers' meme knowledge. Turns out none of them knew it, but it did make for a funny slow-mo Snapchat story. I give the meme pictured above (the side by side of screaming Pepe and I) a 3/10 due to its short spotlight time and one crack punch line; however, the similarity in expressions is uncanny. This meme is referencing certain video games that allow you to customize a character and include it in the cutscenes. Most customizable characters look nothing like the programmed characters around them during a cutscene, hence the comparison to the two pictures shown above. Not a lot of pictures exist for this meme, so for now I give it a 5.0. If more images were to surface, I could consider giving it a higher rating.
The Look Back at It stock photo (originally a part of the "Distracted Boyfriend" stock photo series) has been invading the internet. We haven't had a big meme in awhile so it's refreshing to have one be so ubiquitous. In this meme, the man is usually captioned me while the significant other is captioned something you aren't interested in and the woman in the red dress is something you are interested in. Several variations of this meme exist; I've put my favorite two that I've seen so far above the passage. I give this meme a 7.3 because although it can be used in many ways, it has a limit to its comical aspect.
In this meme, creators use a test format to mock various sayings that are popular in today's culture. I have seen several funnier examples, but being a school-appropriate website, I cannot include them. This meme is very versatile, as I've seen multiple uses of it on several different topics. I give it a 6.2 because although versatile, the joke is slowed by the complexity of the format.
On August 14th, James Woods, an American actor, tweeted out "Before the #liberals find a reason to deface, destroy or degrade this one, I thought some of you might like to see it one more time..." regarding the removal of Confederate monuments. Although he received a myriad support from other Twitter users, others mocked his caption and added images that had nothing to do with the monuments he was talking about. I give this meme a 7.5 because although entertaining, the joke gets tiring after a while.
After the floor is lava game reemerged in social media, this meme came soon to follow. This man, pictured above, is jumping from wall to wall, toe-touching, and just anything else he can do to not touch the floor. This meme is used to show an individual's major opposition towards an object or concept. On my scale, I give this meme an 8.3. Almost every one I've seen has made me laugh.
creativity of the person behind the screen. The tumblr comes out with original content often, which can sometimes be a hard feat.
Recently, several of these charts have been rating random objects with titles such as Lawful, Neutral, Chaotic, Good, True, and Evil. These basic graphs explain the popular opinion on things such as food, movies, etc. For now, all the ones I've seen are accurate. I have posted two of my favorites above. On a scale from trash to dank, I give this meme a 8.9 due to its myriad of versatility and the creativity it invokes from its creator.
No, these men are not actually wearing hawaiian shirts (or a coconut bra), but they are actually bearing tiki torches as they "rally for their rights." The incredible stupidity shown by these men earn them the various parodies that this picture displays. This meme, although funny, is not here to make light of the situation in Charlottesville; it is here to show how ridiculous these men are. Tiki torches and racism, what a combo. I don't think this picture, or the original photo, could get any whiter. As a white person, I am deeply disappointed that there are still some of us out there that believe that we are better than others. I am deeply disgusted by these men. (And the coconut bra.)
