So much can be said about Pepe the Frog. He is one of the OG memes of our generation. In 2005, Matt Furie introduced Pepe the Frog in his comic Boys Club. Since then, Pepe has taken several forms-- not all of them good. This meme was utilized for dank memes up until 2014 when it was officially declared a hate symbol. Several Anti-Semitic organizations adopted Pepe as their symbol and made manipulations to his original form according to their agenda. People were outraged and Pepe is now regarded as a hate symbol. What is happening to our world? How can memes be taken to the dark side along with everything else? Before the controversy erupted, there were specific categories of Pepe including Angry Pepe, Sad Pepe, Rare Pepe, and Feelin' Good Man Pepe. I give Pepe a 9.8 and not for white supremacist reasons. I have loved Pepe through his good times and bad, my favorite variation being Angry Pepe.
