The #ThanksgivingClapBack meme is not new, but it is about to return for the Thanksgiving holiday so I thought I would explain it. Around Thanksgiving these memes start appearing on Instagram and Twitter mainly to share awkward experiences people have reached at the dinner table. Today our society is more open minded, but back in our relatives' days, it was very different. Examples of this meme include bringing someone of a different race or sexuality to the dinner, not having a boyfriend/girlfriend to talk about, and other awkward conversation starters. The problem does not lie in the act, but lies in the bigotry of the elder relatives present.
